What to do every morning to boost your mood

Ever wondered why some days seem to be fabulous than others? You could almost tell that you really woke up on the right side of your bed yesterday, but today, not so much. Most times, your mood in the morning doesn’t really change as you go through the day, even when you make efforts to bounce back into a more cheerful mood. It just feels like the morning mood sets the tone for the rest of the day. But that doesn’t mean you can’t help it. There is so much you can do to swing back to that lively and happy mood you want to have throughout each day.

Below are some great tips on how to boost your mood for the day:

Take a positive look in the mirror

By taking a “positive mirror look”, try to see beauty and perfection in yourself as you try to accept yourself for who you are. Concentrate on the wonderful things you have achieved as you take that look. Focusing on your positive sides helps you see the possibilities of achieving more.

Add a fun activity to your day

You could wake up feeling happy, but if the lined-up activities you have for that day are boring and tiresome, your excitement level tends to drop immediately. It doesn’t matter how much work you have for the day, make sure you add a quick hobby or an item from your bucket list. This anticipation will keep you in a good mood throughout the day.

Eat a happy breakfast

This works like magic! You should not take what you eat for granted, especially in the morning, because it does affect your mood to a large extent. Eat something that really satisfies your appetite. Make sure you eat a favourite snack or fruit but, most importantly, eat a healthy breakfast.

Listen to a favourite song

Music has a way of calming your worst fears and soothing your heart. It could be on loud stereos or your earpieces plugged in. Either way, the impact this usually has on your mood is simply marvellous. You will notice that as you unconsciously hum or sing along, your mind relaxes more. The more you are relaxed, the more you handle panics and distractions better.

Get physical

Getting physical simply involves your body in an activity that shouldn’t be too hectic, else you aim to boost your mood that morning will be defeated. Go for a short stroll across the street or do a simple workout routine. Better still, release all that tension you feel through morning sex. Try out a new position or a new location.  Take the excitement up a notch or two. It’s guaranteed to keep you in high spirits and in an excellent mood.

Look good

Looking good translates to feeling good most times. When you dress well, wear nice perfume and be sure to give yourself the first compliment. That, in itself, will set the mood right for the day. Once you go out feeling on top of the world, there’s nothing anyone can do to bring you down.
