I love the snake,Its skin is rich in patterns,Its body is a shiny glider,For the cobra, I love its majestic head that it wears like a crown.For the rattlesnake, I love the music of its tail.For the green mamba, I love its easy colour of camouflage.For the anaconda, I love the fear it commands.And for the python, I just love its aura of leadership.Yet, my culture has taught me to revile the snake like an enemy,Yet, my religion taught me to condemn the snake like the Devil.I love the snake.Still, I hate the snake…Its deceitfulness engulfs all beauty,Its tongues carries cruel poison,And its bite is equal to death.Whenever I think of the snake,I see you.
