So I have decided to share some of my beauty regimen here on my blog after series of questions concerning my skin. When I get emails and Instant messages concerning my skin, I wonder where they see me or my skin. I think I am not the photo person. These days I hardly take a cool photograph of myself but well…
I will start with something I make sure to do weekly – exfoliating, and the brands involved.
I got to know about anything called scrub and cleansers when I was 23. Funny right? Before I clocked 23, my face had no stress, no acne, no breakout, no dark spot, nothing! I counted myself lucky and felt really lucky until I clocked 23 going 24.
The acne and breakout came with full force. It was not funny. I used to stay very far away from makeup and the whole female beauty wahala, but I was forced into knowing different beauty and skin products and how to use them. Getting a body scrub was one of the recommendation I got and so I did.
My first ever body scrub product was Eden Apricot Scrub For Face And Body With Elder Flower.
The scrub was added to my skin routine/regimen.
But because this post is not about Eden scrub but about a new scrub I am in love with, I will just jump right into details.
About last two weeks, I decided to patronize a friend of mine who recently started her line of natural beauty product for the skin and hair. It took me a while to finally make this decision because I am not the kind of person to jump around products. I am a loyal product fan…LOL and very scared for negative reactions. I thought about it and decided trying the scrub shouldn’t harm me that much. From the first use, I can tell if I am to use the scrub again or not. Of course I still have my Eden scrub. So here we go;
My review of Lemon Glow Scrub by Hairfilliation
Packaging – the scrub is in a simple regular transparent jar. I like the fact that it is transparent, so I can see the content without loosening it.
Ingredients – Brown Sugar, Honey, Oils (coconut, avocado, jojoba, lavender, lemon), rose water, lemon juice, vitamin E and *love symbol* (I wonder where that is sold).
If you know me, then you will know how huge a fan I am of Avocado and Honey. Seeing these two ingredients made my heart leap for joy.
Lemon Glow by Hairfilliation’s nature is rougher than the scrub I am used to. Unlike the way I used Eden scrub, for just my face and neck, I used this one all over and I must say I am tempted to scrub daily. It gave my skin this very baby feeling and suppleness. It doesn’t dry out my skin. I will be using it for the second time this week and I can’t wait. You might find it a bit too rough for your skin but it worked for mine. I enjoyed the feeling while I scrubbed.
I intend to replace my Eden body scrub with this product. At least we are on the buy Nigeria to grow Nigeria campaign and why not? If a Nigerian product gives me way more than what a foreign product can give, I am all in baby!
You wonder why you should scrub. Here are few reasons out of many;
Exfoliating regularly helps you remove ingrained dirt, old dead skin, and improve the overall look of your skin. You scrub away the old flakey skin, reveal a softer and smooth looking skin. Not only will the texture of your skin improve but you will also help slow down the rate at which your skin ages.
Please leave a comment below if you have tried Lemon Glow by Hairfilliation and if not, tell us what scrub you use and how often you exfoliate.
