Oldtown

One of the largest cities in Westeros, this beautiful scenery is filmed in Barcelona. Girona on the beautiful Catalonia is the setting for Oldtown, the free city of Braavos. Also the home of the Citadel where all masters of the Seven Kingdoms receive royal training. Girona is only 40 minutes from Barcelona. The Girona Cathedral is where Game of Thrones is set for The Great Sept of Baelor.

The Long Bridge of Volantis

The Long Bridge of Volantis in the series especially season 5 is set in Cordoba, Southern Spain. Remember in the Free City of Volantis, Varys and Tyrion went through the Long Bridge where they see shops with the severed hands of thieves on display in their mission to free the slaves.

The bridge is actually called Roman Bridge of Córdoba and it’s located in Spain. But the real bridge is not as long as they make it look in the film. The producers had the bridge lengthened on screen with CGI to make it look longer and larger for the markets and the buildings on top of it.

King’s Landing

The capital of Westeros and the largest city in Game of thrones, the new seat of the king of Westeros is located in Croatia, precisely Dubrovnik. to be honest, a visit to Dubrovnik will prove to be a beautiful déjà vu because of the way the beautiful tourist city was so sweetly integrated into the series.

The House of Undying

This House of Undying in the town of Qarth is the place where Daenerys Targaryen walks around trying to find the entrance into the House of Undying looking for her stolen dragons in season 2.

It is also filmed in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik on the entrance. Minčeta is the most beautiful and remarkable fortress in Dubrovnik and the folks there regard it as the symbol of the city. Imagine the experience of visiting this marvelous place!

Dothraki Sea

Daenerys Targaryen is held captive by the Dothraki at the beginning of season 6. The Dothraki camps are located on the arid countryside of Bardenas Reales, in the south of Navarra, in Spain.
