One Important Key to Success is Self-Confidence. An Important key to Self-Confidence is Preparation. – Arthur Ashe
Building self-confidence takes time. While there are numerous advice as to how you can increase your confidence in a jiffy, it all depends from person to person simply because no two individuals think and/or act alike. Having said that, here’s our primer on boosting your confidence instantly by making the following changes to your lifestyle:
Know What Makes You Feel Confident
We all have our own quirks or rules that we live by. A friend of mine told me once that she feels great every time she watches Inside Out. It was the source of inspiration for her and an exercise in morale boosting.
More often than not, we forget ourselves in the pursuit of doing things for others.
Responsibilities are important, but so is “Me” time. Hence, dedicate a part of the day to focus on yourself and do things for pure joy and nothing and no one else!
Find out the source of your happiness and confidence, and incorporate it into your daily routine. Listen to a song while commuting to work, bake a batch of cookies for your co-workers, wear a particular color of tie/scarf or just stay in the pajamas and binge watch your favorite series the entire weekend!
Go Lingerie Shopping
The thumb rule of feeling great outside is to feel great from the inside as well. That includes choosing and wearing some fantastic lingerie. It is not only about feeling empowered sexually, but also about enhancing your body language. Moreover, the right kind of lingerie can really uplift any outfit that you wear and double up your confidence.
Get Intimate With Your Partner
This one’s literally a no-brainer.
Lovemaking has often been considered an exercise in enhancing self-confidence for both men and women. While there are many ways to spice up things in the bedroom, you can opt for a vaginal tightening wand to increase the pleasure manifold. If you haven’t tried it out yet, take the opportunity and see the difference it makes in your life. Even if you’re not using it for its role in sex, give it a shot to feel better about yourself.
Create a Vision Board
Vision boards are being talked about a lot. Simply put, a vision board includes a collage of all the images and words, which you want in life. It can be related to your professional or personal life such as:
- Places you want to travel
- Outfit ideas
- Wealth you want to acquire
- Your Dream Home
- Words and quotes that make you happy
- Your hobbies and interests
- A movie that you intend to watch
- Memories you want to recreate
- Skills that you want to acquire
Every day, when you look at the board, it will help you move forward and make the visions a reality eventually. It’s like subconsciously speaking to yourself and motivating yourself.
You can easily create a vision board by collecting tidbits from magazines, taking some printouts and including other knick-knacks. There are plenty of ideas on Pinterest, Instagram and on the web in general. If you find it all too overwhelming and don’t want to invest that much time, opt for a digital vision boards.
Believe it or not, but journaling is one of the best ways to let blow off steam and eliminate negativity. You can opt for bullet journals to organize your thoughts, to-do lists, bucket lists and more. It’s the best way to trace your steps, connecting with yourself and is therapeutic in nature. Go the old school way by putting pen on paper or write a blog and maintain it as your online journal!
De-Clutter and Organize
Admit it. We’ve all been guilty of procrastination at some or the other point of time. We’ve let the piles of paper and books overcrowd our work-spaces and planned things at the last moment. This is just one of the persisting problems that decreases productivity and leads to stress.
Start de-cluttering by completing all your everyday tasks one by one. You can draw inspiration from Marie Kondo’s KonMari method of de-cluttering your home and becoming thoroughly organized. This takes us to the next point.
Perform Random Acts of Kindness
The world we live in needs more random acts of kindness than ever. From giving up your seat in the sub to holding the door, the opportunities for making someone smile, are endless. You can volunteer at shelters, host charity events and find out other ways of giving back to the community. This will not only help others, but instantly make you feel better about yourself. As a bonus, you may make some friends as well!
Increasing your self-confidence is no rocket science. While it builds up gradually, brick by brick, these points will help you feel much better about yourself. Do give them a try!
