OUR IDENTITY

Our identity - elsieisy blog

Ever woken up one day and feel completely like shit? Feel like your life is headed nowhere? Like an utter, complete failure? Like you have no direction?

Perhaps this happens almost every day. Believe me, you are not alone. A lot of people, including me, go through these motions.

Ever wonder what your identity is? Feel like you have no identity? Nothing defining you?

Well, there’s good news.

The good news is Christ.

Our identity is in Christ. Christ has died for us so that we can live for Him. I am no Pastor, no Priest, no Preacher, and no Bible scholar. But I know one thing for sure and it is this:

          John 3 vs 16

‘For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.’

There’s also something I know for sure:

          Jeremiah 29 vs 11

‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’.

Isn’t that just amazing? To have a God, a Father who has a plan for us, and not just any plan, a great plan at that.

We may feel down at times but what matters most is what we do in those times. We should constantly remember that we have a Father who has an amazing plan for us, a Father who loves us so much despite our shortcomings.

But, we don’t just stop there. We rise and fill ourselves with the Word, understand and totally accept the love given to us, accept the gifts at our disposal. We find our identity in Christ and live for Christ.

When we find who we are in Christ, then we find our voice in the world, adding to it what we are destined to add. We are sons and daughters of the Most High, the King. We aren’t mediocre, we are great people in Christ and the world is blessed to have us.
