NUC approves University of lbadan’s new business school

The National Universities Commission has approved the establishment of a School of Business at the University of Ibadan, the school said.This is contained in a statement by the university’s Director of Public Communications, Olatunji Oladejo.Mr. Oladejo said the approval was conveyed to the university in a letter signed by the commission’s Director of Standards, G. Kumo.He said approval was sequel to the recent resource evaluation visit carried out by a panel of experts from the NUC to the university on its proposed School of Business.Mr. Oladejo said the panel had assessed the human and material resources available for the establishment of the school.“The school will run executive Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in telecommunications, agribusiness, oil and gas, effective from the 2015/2016 academic session,’’ it said.Mr. Oladejo said further inclusion of options would require the express approval of the commission.“All programmes shall bear only the approved titles and nomenclatures (MBA Telecommunications), etc and any change will require the approval of the commission.”(NAN)
