Deception

The world is still deceived by ornaments The ornaments plea so taint and corrupt But being season with a gracious voice To obscure the show of evil within. Though, sober brow will bless and approve it Hiding the grossness with honeyed talk. The beards of sheep and smiling snakes Whose in-search have livers black as coal. Their seeming truth with cunning lies put in To entrap the wisest, those gaudy ornaments! Which rather threaten than promise anything Their paleness moves more than eloquence And here choose them. Joy be the consequence! Written by Kwadwo Mensah Aggor
