According to daily.bhaskar, Arpit was born with his heart outside of his body in the year 1997 and at that time no one expected him to survive.But, the 18-year-old boy from Gujarat is living a healthy life and has become a puzzle for medical science.According to the boy’s father, Vikrambhai, even doctors didn’t expect him to live at that time as this is an incredibly rare condition and usually babies die within few days. According to Dr. Sanjeeth Peter – director and chief cardiac surgeon of DDMM Heart Institute, Nadia; this is the only such case in India. Dr. Peter said that such situation arises because of pentalogy of cantrell syndrome. Infants with pentalogy of Cantrell can have a wide variety of congenital heart defects and its severity can vary from one infant to another.
