FORGIVENESS

healing

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” – Mark 11 : 25 – 26

Many a times we wonder why our prayers seems to hit a brick wall and bounces right back in our face!

It’s simply because whenever we violate some spiritual principles we shoot ourselves in the leg. An Unforgiving heart hinders the earth from yielding it fruitfulness in our endeavors and heaven from releasing our blessings.

For our prayers to be answered we have to consciously walk in forgiveness.

In the Lord’s Prayer it was mentioned that “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”. To be forgiven, you need to forgive others. That is the key I will be looking at today.

We barge into the prayer mode, with baggage of hate, un-forgiveness and bitterness. We expect the heavens to answer our numerous prayers without following the scripture that says we must first forgive or better still resolve issues we have with any one before we approach for worship whether in form of thanksgiving, supplication or intercession.

Friends, some of the reasons our prayers are not answered is because un-forgiveness lurks in our heart. Let go friends, no matter what the person do or did to you!

You are doing yourself a whole lot of good by forgiving others. Release people and relieve yourself of unnecessary baggage; enjoy unhindered answer to prayers.

God is waiting for you to forgive others and you will walk into divine realm of answered prayer.

Cheers!

  1. This is so true but its hard to forgive some people just need to pray about it, God will heal my heart to forgive that person

    1. Truly hard to forgive and like you rightly said, may God heal our heart to forgive. Amen. Thanks

  2. In Buddhism they have no concept of forgiveness because they believe you should expect people to hurt and disappoint you, so the forgiveness should be given in advance. The thing with forgiveness is that it is actually more for us than the person we are forgiving. I the words of my name sake William Shakespeare ‘The quality of mercy is not strain’d, It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven. Upon the place beneath: it is twice blest; It blesseth him that gives and him that takes. To forgive others is to forgive ourselves.

  3. This is great post, reminds me of the quote “…holding a grudge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die”.
